When I started this website, I tried to make a point of not writing about politics. Well, I'm going to break my own rule today, and hope to spread the word about what I can only call disgraceful and disgusting conduct on the part of a Canton, OH police officer. Ohio, like many states, allows citizens to carry a concealed handgun after passing the appropriate background checks, taking a class, and so on. And like many states, Ohio has a "duty to inform" clause in their concealed carry law. That means that when interacting with law enforcement, as a concealed handgun license holder, you have a "duty" to immediately inform the law enforcement officer that you have a concealed handgun license. Well - what if the officer never gives the chance to talk?  Things can go downhill quick.

Installing wview on CentOS 5.6

Today, I'll be going over my installation and configuration of wview.  From the wview website:

wview is a collection of unix daemons which interface with a supported weather station to retrieve archive records (if generated by the station) and current conditions.  wview will generate archive records based on the sensor readings collected for that interval. The archive records are stored in an SQLite3 database. At a configurable interval wview will utilize the archive history and current conditions to generate weather images (buckets, dials and graphs) and HTML web pages based on user-configurable HTML templates. Other types of file generation are supported including PHP, XML, python, etc. to support custom web site designs.
